What are VOC?

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are organic chemical compounds that easily vaporize into air and cause air pollution. They can be found in different building products such as paints, lacquers, paint strippers, adhesives, sealants, and other building furnishings. Some VOCs are dangerous to human health. These VOCs include GROUP 1 CARCINOGEN like FORMALDEHYDE AND BENZENE, which could be continuously released from products for 10 years or more. Prolonged exposure to these VOCs could adversely affect health, and more importantly, increase the risk of cancer.
